The game starts when a new Sheriff throws Robin out of his castle and claims it as his own. Of course you won't stand for it, but as things are, you are just on your own, and the local villagers are indifferent to you.

By stealing from the rich and donating to the poor, you can build up your reputation. The surrounding Sherwood forests hold many adventures, allowing you to befriend worthy men to join your cause, or unlock new abilities by finding hidden items.

Of course, you could also go the other way, and be a jerk to the villagers, robbing the poor and needy, but let's assume you're not that kind of a person.

Villagers and other NPCs will go about their daily lives. They may hunt game, beg, or bury the dead. Watchmen from the Sherrif will collect taxes, and hunt and hang criminals. There are various other NPCs you can interact with, all leading to unique dialogue and options.

You control Robin by means of icons, or the matching keyboard shortcuts. The quickest way to move Robin around is simply by clicking on a point you want him to go. However, you can also use the arrow-icons to get some additional control.

Keys:

P = Pause
A = upper-left
S = Upper right
Z = Lower left
X = Lower right

ENTER = Attack with your bow
F = Attack with your sword
SPACE = Focus camera on Robin's vision (eye icon)

The heart icon will cause Robin to run. The lips provide a way to talk to the villagers. An open hand means Robin is giving coins to someone, while the closed hand means he will steal.

To have the game run properly, from DOSBOX, run Robin.bat. Attempting to run the .EXE will simply end freezing the game.
