Your friend April O'Neil was kidnapped by your arch nemesis Shredder. You will have to fight Shredders' army of henchmen to free her, and save the city.
The game offers a top-down overview of the city, where you can enter sewers and buildings. You don't have to enter all sewers to progress, though some paths obviously are mandatory in order to find the bosses, or make your way across the rivers.
Once you enter a sewer or building, you will see the area from a side-view perspective. Some areas will contain additional bonuses, like pieces of (or an entire) pizza, which will restore your health, or additional weapons like rockets (useful for destroying barricades), or Kai (useful against enemies).
In total there are 6 areas to fight your way through before you get to finally face Shredder for an awesome boss fight.
Enter = Jump
Space = Use your weapon
Up = Enter doors
ESC = Map/Advice from Master Splinter or April.

Press the following keys simultaniously to unlock the specific cheat. If you did it well, at the bottom of your screen, you'll see a flashing message stating ON.
QRP - Toggle invincibility (From enemies. You can still die in other ways).
